What is Abrasive Blasting?
Abrasive blasting is the process of effectively propelling a continuous stream of abrasive material against a surface under high pressure to smooth a rough surface, roughen a smooth surface, shape a surface, or carefully remove surface contaminants for ex: removal of rust, old paint, preparation of surface, SA 1,2, 2.5,3. Different machines are used for different purposes like the table type airless shot machine is used for heavy components and portable air operated machine p7 is used for blast cleaning castings. The number of wheels installed in a machine depends on the type of job to be shot blasted and rate of work. The Role of shot also depends on the component dimensions & sheet thickness, For example: A smaller size steel shot can be used to produce smooth polished surface while large shot can be used to remove heavy flash.
